11N/12D ASSAM-ARUNACHAL-DETAILED ITINERARY

 

DAY 1: GUWAHATI

Welcome to North-East, Guwahati.

Arrive and check in at hotel. Evening visit 'Kalakshetra', a place where Assamese history and culture presents through Light and sound show or take an evening cruise on the mighty river Brahmaputra. Return to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 2: GUWAHATI-KAZIRANGA

On arrival at Guwahati, proceed straight to Kaziranga National Park (5 hr 30 min). En route, halt and stretch your legs. Have some light refreshments if needed. Arrive at Kaziranga. Kaziranga National Park, a World Heritage Site. is the largest undisturbed representative area of Brahmaputra valley. Its 430 square kilometers of swamps and grassland with tall thickets of savannah elephant grass and patches of evergreen forest support the largest number of one horned rhinos on the Indian subcontinent and offer you some of the best views of wildlife from the back of an elephant or from a four wheel drive vehicle. Kaziranga is not all about Rhinos. Apart from 70% of the world's endangered One-horned Rhinoceros, the Park sustains half the world's population of genetically pure Wild Water Buffaloes, over 1000 Wild elephants and perhaps the densest population of Royal Bengal Tigers. Beside this the Park has more than 483 species of birds, 18 of them are globally threatened species. Because of the varied habitat-types that the Park comprises of as also of the strict protection accorded to them birding in Kaziranga is very special. The easy accessibility to wildlife is the secret of Kaziranga's popularity among wildlife lovers and tourists. With its primeval vegetation, it presents a view of what the Brahmaputra valley must have been years ago, before it was touched by cultivation and civilization. Engaged in wildlife conservation since 1926, the park is on the National Highway 37, which passes along the park and is almost midway between the two major cities, Guwahati and Dibrugarh, amidst the undulating landscapes of the world's oldest tea gardens outside China.

DAY 03: KAZIRANGA– DIRANG

Depart from your hotel on an early morning for elephant ride in search of the rhino. Elephant safari is the most enjoyed safari to explore the wide varieties of wild life in the Kaziranga National Park. The vast area covered by the Elephant Grass can be best viewed when you are on an elephant's back. Here you get an opportunity to see herds of Indian Elephants, One-horned Rhinoceros and many other wild animals from a very close distance. Overnight Stay at Dirang.

 Day 04: DIRANG

Dirang is a city in Arunachal Pradesh. Dirang is 192 kms from Tezpur and 200 kms Tawang. It is situated at the middle point of Tezpur-Tawang road. Enjoy the snow around the tourist places & have a great time. Overnight in Dirang.

Day 05: DIRANG – TAWANG (140 KM / 6 HRS)

After breakfast transfer to Tawang. On the way visit war cemetery. Continue with the drive till you reach Sela Pass at an altitude of 4114m / 13494 ft. It is famous for high altitude lakes & scenic beauty & is ideal for ice skating during winter. Overnight stay in Tawang

Day 06: TAWANG

After breakfast visit Tawang Monstery, Namgye Lhaste, PT Tso, Gorsham Chorten, Gontse Garden, Singar Ani Gompa. Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 07: TAWANG

Visit Bumla Pass & Madhuri Lake on this Day.

Day 08: TAWANG – BOMDILA (190 KM / 7-8 HRS)

After Breakfast transfer to Bomdila. Visit Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gonpa), Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa), Bomdila View Point. Bomdila offers wonderfully panoramic view of Himalayan landscapes and snow clad ranges. Evening you can visit the local market. Overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 09: BOMDILA – BHALUKPONG

Bhalukpung is a small town located along the southern reaches of the Himalayas in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh in India. The town is located at 213m above sea level. Fish angling and river rafting are the principal tourist activities in Bhalukpung. Tourist attractions in Bhalukpung include the Pakhui Game Sanctuary and Tipi Orchidariurm, which hosts over 2600 cultivated orchids from 80 different species.

Day 10: BHALUKPONG -- GUWAHATI (335 KM / 9-10 HRS)

After Breakfast transfer to Guwahati. Evening you are free for leisure.

Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 11: GUWAHATI

After breakfast in hotel. Visit Kamakhya Temple & other attractive places in and around Guwahati. In the evening you can be in leisure for shopping & other activities accordingly. Overnight in Hotel.  

Day 12: GUWAHATI TO AIRPORT DROP

After breakfast start from Hotel & With everlasting memories transfer to Guwahati airport/railway station for onward journey.

Note: For Bumla Pass & Madhuri Lake in Tawang You Have to Take Local Vehicle as We Cannot operate our vehicle over there.
